About Me
A product of the strong women in my family...my father and brothers weren't bad either...
I am a 65+ year old woman born & raised in Massachusetts, an engineer by training, a writer by actual experience and known for a wicked sense of humor..or so people tell me...
I am a Stage III breast cancer surivor and cancer free as of today and only survived that arduous journey through the support of friends, family, my medical team and that wicked sense of humor.
I am a second generation American and named for my Grandmother who arrived in America with her five sisters and one brother in the early 1900s from England. She was married, had 2 children and raised them as a single mother long before it was commonplace.
Nonnie, as my three brothers and I called my Grandmother, lived with us in a small apartment at the back of our house and I hold her directly responsible for my British sense of humor and love of Brit Box...
Nonnie's real name was Margaret Elizabeth (Thorne) Gillespie. Mine name is Maragaret Anne Peterson (the "e" on Anne to stand for Elizabeth). My parents figured there would not be enough boxes for my full name on the SATs answer sheet if they went with the Elizabeth...so much early confidence that I would indeed be off to college...
I believe it is no coincidence that my Doublewide is located in Gillespie County....
